Shipping Policy

We want to be completely upfront about how your order gets to you — how long it takes, what it costs, and what to do if something goes wrong. Because WallPrint produces some products ourselves and sources others through third-party suppliers, delivery timelines vary by product type. This page explains everything.

Section 1
How Delivery Works at WallPrint
Your total delivery time consists of two separate steps: production (the time it takes to make your product) and shipping (the time it takes to get it to your door). These are not the same thing and both add to your waiting time.
WallPrint has three types of products, each with a different fulfilment process:

Each product page indicates whether the item is custom-printed by us, print-on-demand, or drop-shipped. If you are unsure, contact us via our contact page before ordering.
Section 2
Production & Processing Times
Production time is the time we (or our suppliers) need to prepare your order before it is handed to a courier. This is separate from, and in addition to, the shipping time shown at checkout.
Custom-printed wallpaper & murals
Our custom wallpaper and murals are printed specifically to your wall dimensions and design. Once your order is confirmed and your design proof approved, please allow 2–5 business days for production before your order is dispatched. More complex or large-format orders may take a little longer, and we will always let you know if that is the case.
For custom orders, production does not begin until you have approved your design proof. The production timeline starts from the date of your approval, not the date of purchase. Please review proofs promptly to avoid delays.
Supplier-printed products
Products such as canvas prints that are produced and fulfilled by our third-party print partners are made to order after your purchase. Standard production time is typically 2–7 business days depending on the product, and this is in addition to the shipping time shown at checkout.
Drop-shipped products
Drop-shipped products are processed and dispatched directly by our third-party suppliers, typically within 1–3 business days of your order being confirmed.
Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding South African public holidays. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays are processed from the next business day.
Section 3
Domestic Shipping (South Africa)
We use The Courier Guy as our primary courier for WallPrint-produced orders, though some products may be dispatched via alternative courier services depending on the size, destination, or nature of the item. We always select the fastest available service for your area — same-day delivery where it is available and your order is ready, or next-day and overnight options for destinations across South Africa. Our goal is to get your order moving as quickly as possible once it leaves our studio.
Once your order is ready for dispatch, we don't sit on it. We aim to hand it to the courier on the same day it completes production where possible, and we always select the fastest available shipping option for your destination rather than the cheapest.
Same-day delivery through The Courier Guy is available in select major centres (including greater Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, and Pretoria) for orders that are ready for dispatch before the courier's daily collection cut-off (typically around 14:30). If your order qualifies, same-day delivery will be offered at checkout. Orders placed after the cut-off or in areas outside same-day zones will be dispatched on the next available collection.
Delivery times and costs vary based on your destination and the size and weight of your parcel.

These are estimated delivery windows after dispatch and do not include production time. Your tracking information will be sent by email once your order has been dispatched.
Shipping costs
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your delivery address and the size and weight of your order. Large-format wallpaper orders (which are rolled and packaged as oversized parcels) may attract higher shipping rates than standard items.
We offer free standard domestic shipping on qualifying orders. The current free shipping threshold, where applicable, will be displayed at checkout and on relevant product pages. Oversized or heavy custom wallpaper orders may be excluded from free shipping due to their dimensions and packaging requirements.
Remote and rural deliveries
Deliveries to outlying, farming, or remote areas may involve longer transit times and, in some cases, may require collection from the nearest courier depot or Pargo pickup point rather than door-to-door delivery. If this applies to your address, we will inform you at checkout or after your order is placed.
PO Boxes
We are unable to deliver to PO Boxes. Please ensure you provide a physical street address at checkout.
Section 4
International Shipping
WallPrint ships internationally. We aim to make our products accessible to customers around the world, and we're working to expand our international coverage as the store grows.

International delivery estimates are after dispatch and do not include production time. All estimates are based on standard shipping and exclude delays caused by customs processing, public holidays, or carrier disruptions.
For supplier-printed products such as canvas prints, your order may be produced and shipped from a fulfilment centre located in or near your country or region. This can significantly reduce delivery times for international customers compared to shipping directly from South Africa.
International shipping costs
International shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your destination, the weight and dimensions of your parcel, and the product type. Large custom wallpaper orders shipped internationally will be quoted separately due to their size and packaging requirements — contact us via our contact page for a shipping quote before ordering if you are outside South Africa and ordering a large-format mural.
Section 5
Customs, Duties & Import Taxes
When ordering from outside South Africa, your parcel may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, VAT, or other fees levied by your country's customs authority. These charges are entirely separate from WallPrint's shipping costs and are not included in the price you pay at checkout.
- WallPrint has no control over customs processes or the charges applied by your country.
- Customs fees are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid by the recipient before or upon delivery.
- Delays caused by customs processing are outside our control and are not included in our estimated delivery times.
- We are unable to refund shipping costs or product costs if a parcel is held, delayed, or refused by customs due to outstanding duties or incorrect information provided at checkout.
We recommend checking your country's import duty thresholds before placing a large order. For most EU countries, UK, US, and Australian customers, low-value parcels are often cleared without duty, but larger orders may attract fees. Your country's customs website is the best source of current information.
Section 6
Order Tracking
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email with tracking information and a link to track your parcel in real time. Tracking is available on all domestic and most international orders.
- For orders shipped from our Cape Town studio, tracking is provided through The Courier Guy or an alternative courier service depending on the product and destination. You will receive a tracking link by email as soon as your parcel is collected.
- For supplier-printed and drop-shipped products, tracking information is provided by the relevant supplier and their chosen carrier. Carrier details will vary depending on the supplier's location and logistics arrangements.
Tracking updates may take up to 24 hours to appear after your dispatch confirmation is sent. If your tracking link shows no movement for more than 5 business days, please contact us via our contact page.
For international orders, tracking may not update during customs processing — this is normal. Tracking often resumes once your parcel clears customs and is handed to your local carrier for the final delivery leg.
Section 7
Lost, Delayed or Damaged Orders
Delayed orders
If your estimated delivery date has passed and your order hasn't arrived, please allow an additional 3–5 business days before contacting us, as carriers occasionally experience delays that are not reflected in tracking updates. After this window, contact us via our contact page with your order number and we will investigate with the courier.
Lost orders
If an order is confirmed lost by the courier, WallPrint will arrange a replacement or issue a refund, depending on stock availability and your preference. Please note that WallPrint is not liable for loss after an order has been confirmed as delivered by the courier — if your parcel shows as delivered but you haven't received it, contact us and we will assist you in raising a case with the carrier.
Damaged orders
Please inspect your order carefully upon delivery. If your parcel or product is visibly damaged on arrival, please:
- Photograph the damaged packaging and product before opening or disturbing it further.
- Contact us via our contact page within 5 business days of delivery with your photos and order number.
We will arrange a replacement or refund in accordance with our Returns & Refund Policy. Do not discard damaged packaging until your claim has been resolved, as couriers may require it for their own investigation.
WallPrint is not responsible for failed or delayed delivery caused by an incorrect or incomplete address provided at checkout. Please double-check your delivery address before placing your order. If you realise you've entered an incorrect address, contact us immediately — we may be able to correct it if your order has not yet been dispatched.
Section 8
Supplier-Fulfilled & Drop-Shipped Products
Some products in our store are produced and fulfilled by third-party suppliers rather than by WallPrint directly. This includes certain canvas prints and wall art (produced by specialist print partners) as well as décor accessories and other items dispatched directly from supplier warehouses.
Separate shipments
If your order contains a mix of product types — for example, a custom wallpaper produced by us and a canvas print fulfilled by a supplier — these items will arrive in separate parcels and may arrive at different times. You will receive individual tracking information for each shipment. You will not be charged additional shipping for split orders unless this is indicated at checkout.
Fulfilled from various locations
Supplier-printed products may be produced and dispatched from facilities located in South Africa or internationally, depending on the supplier and product. Where an item ships from outside South Africa, this will be noted on the relevant product page. For international customers, supplier-fulfilled products may arrive faster than items shipped directly from Cape Town, as they may be produced closer to your location.
Our preference for local suppliers
Where possible, we partner with South African-based suppliers for products we don't produce in-house. Using local suppliers means shorter lead times, no customs complications for domestic customers, and better quality oversight. When a product is sourced locally, domestic delivery is generally faster and more predictable than products fulfilled from overseas.
Lead times for supplier-fulfilled products
Production and dispatch times for supplier-fulfilled items are typically 2–7 business days, followed by the applicable shipping time to your destination. These timeframes are outside WallPrint's direct control, but we only work with suppliers who maintain consistent quality and reliable delivery standards.
Drop-shipped products — supplier logistics
For drop-shipped items, your order is dispatched directly by the supplier using their own courier arrangements. WallPrint does not control the carrier or shipping method they use. We select suppliers with reliable fulfilment track records, but their shipping speed and carrier choice will vary. Estimated dispatch and delivery times for drop-shipped products are displayed on each product page where available.
For any quality or delivery concerns with supplier-fulfilled products, please contact us via our contact page. We will manage the matter with the supplier on your behalf. You do not need to contact them directly.
Section 9
Shipping Restrictions
While we aim to ship globally, there are some limitations to be aware of:
- PO Boxes: We cannot deliver to PO Boxes for any product type. A physical street address is required.
- Restricted countries: We are unable to ship to countries subject to international trade sanctions or where our courier partners do not offer service. If we are unable to ship to your country, you will be notified at checkout.
- Large-format wallpaper: Due to the size and weight of custom-printed wallpaper and murals, international shipping for these products is available to select destinations only and may require a separate shipping quote. Contact us before placing a large international order.
- Supplier-fulfilled product restrictions: Not all supplier-printed or drop-shipped products are available for delivery to all countries. Where a product cannot be shipped to your location, this will be indicated on the product page or at checkout.
Section 10
Peak Periods & Delays
During high-demand periods — including the December/January holiday season, Black Friday, and other major sale events — production and delivery times may be longer than usual across all product types. This affects WallPrint's own production as well as our third-party fulfilment partners.
We will communicate any anticipated delays via our website announcement bar and, where possible, by email to affected customers. We recommend ordering well in advance if you need delivery by a specific date during peak periods.
WallPrint typically closes for a brief period over the year-end holidays. Order cutoff dates for pre-holiday delivery will be announced on our website in advance. Orders placed during the closure will be processed from our first business day in January.
Delays may also result from circumstances beyond our or our couriers' control, including extreme weather events, carrier capacity constraints, labour disruptions, or customs backlogs. WallPrint is not liable for delays caused by these circumstances, but we will do everything we can to keep you informed and resolve issues as quickly as possible.
Section 11
Packaging
We take great care with how we package our products to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
- Custom wallpaper and murals are rolled and packaged in heavy-duty protective tubes or flat-packed in reinforced cardboard, depending on size.
- Canvas prints are packaged with corner protectors and sturdy outer cartons to prevent damage in transit.
- Drop-shipped products are packaged by our third-party suppliers according to their own packaging standards.
All packaging is designed to protect your order during transit. If you receive a parcel that shows visible damage to the outer packaging, please photograph it before opening and contact us if the product inside has been affected.
